We completed our summer 2022 lavender harvest and are pleased to offer you dried English lavender bouquets (Lavandula angustifolia) right from the farm! Our lavender is lovingly grown and harvested on our farm without the use of chemicals or pesticides. "Royal Velvet" is a true showstopper! The deep, vibrant purple flowers are darker than those of most other lavenders and tend to keep their intense color even when dried. Like all lavenders, Royal Velvet is an excellent bed and border plant that also deserves space in a kitchen herb garden or cutting garden. The fresh or dried leaves and flowers are used in sachets, perfume and floral waters as well as in soaps and cosmetics. In cooking, Royal Velvet lavender flowers are flavorful additions to cakes, cookies, tea and coffee blends, and much more.
As these are 2nd year plants (and a bit smaller than the full size they will reach in their 3rd year), your bouquet will be 10" to 12" tall, and will contain approximately 125-150 stems. To best preserve your Royal Velvet bouquet's color, buds and fragrance, it would be best to keep it out of direct sunlight if using it for display. If you plan to de-bud your lavender to use for culinary, crafts or other purposes, we recommend keeping the loose buds in an airtight container away from sunlight to best preserve the essential oil, fragrance and color.
